Adrian visited our property several times before staining our new privacy fence, making sure the moisture content was appropriate for staining. He provided us with a professional assessment and quote.

It was a pleasure to work with Adrian at Superior Stain Solutions to get a new, unfinished fence stained. The work was done with great attention to detail, there were zero paint splatters on the house or on the gate hardware. Fence looks great now. Very satisfied!!
We recently had our fence stained by Superior Stain Solutions, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the entire experience was stress free and professional.

The details
Pre-staining and new construction, in detail
Adrian of Superior Stain Solutions did an outstanding job on two fences for us. One fence was brand new and only required staining while the other existing fence required it to first be washed. They both turned out excellent! We chose Barnwood stain and when it fully dried it was just the color we were looking for. Very happy with the end result.
01 What pre-staining includes
Once a fence is standing, some faces never get a proper coat again: the bottoms at the ground line, the laps where boards overlap, the faces tight to the rails, and every cut end. Pre-staining gets all of it while the boards are still flat and dry, in steady conditions. When the wood is already up, we meter new pressure-treated pine and stain it as soon as it reads under 13%, not a year later after it has greyed.
- Boards stained on every face before install: bottoms, laps, and back faces included
- New wood metered and stained as soon as it is ready
- Perimeter and production work for builders, developers, and HOAs
- Written pricing and a schedule that fits the build
02 Step by step, in detail
- We plan it with the build. Talk to us before the lumber is delivered. We set where and when the boards get stained so the crew is not waiting on us.
- We meter, then stain. New pressure-treated wood is wet. We check every load with a moisture meter and stain once it reads under 13%, on every face.
- We touch up after install. Cuts made on site open raw end grain. We come back for those and any scuffed boards so the finished fence is covered end to end.
What is pre-staining?
Staining the boards before the fence or deck is built. Every face gets coated while the wood is flat and dry, including the bottoms, the laps, and the back faces that are hard or impossible to reach once it is standing.
Do you work with fence and deck installers?
Yes. We work with builders across Greenville and Spartanburg counties who want the finish handled as part of the build instead of a callback two years later. Call before the lumber is delivered and we will plan it around your schedule.
Can you handle large perimeter and HOA jobs?
Yes. We have stained more than 5,000 linear feet for HOAs, developers, and commercial clients, including perimeter work at Reidville Town Center. One color the whole way, priced in writing.
Our new fence is already up. Is it too late?
No. We meter the new wood and stain it once it reads under 13%, which is often within the first few months. The goal is to get oil on it before its first summer greys it.
Do pre-stained boards need anything after the fence goes up?
Usually just touch-ups. Cuts made on site open raw end grain, and a few boards get scuffed during install. We coat those so the fence is covered end to end.
How is pre-staining priced?
By the job: how much wood, how many faces, and the schedule. Builders and HOAs get a written price per job or per phase. Homeowners get one flat number, and every job carries our 12-month workmanship warranty.
